THE COLLECTION

THE STORY

June is a special moment to promote inclusivity, unity and equality in celebration of Pride Month. In the case of the artist, Sam Kirk, Pride Month represents a time when she has taken bolder leaps of self-expression to be seen in her truest form.

These days, Kirk celebrates Pride year-round everywhere she goes. The collection was inspired by the joy and energy of the LGBTQ community and is meant to inspire people to enjoy the journey, love themselves and always be proud of who they are. Kirk imagined what an evening at the ballpark during Pride could feel like if transformed into an experience.

SAM KIRK

THE ARTIST

Sam Kirk is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist and biracial, queer woman whose artwork focuses on a variety of intersections which encompass a call to celebrate differences and enact change. Vivid and powerful images of women, members of the LGBTQ community, and those who have historically been underrepresented are celebrated throughout her artwork.

Kirk’s vibrant color palette, intricate line work and layered backgrounds highlight cultural communities via multitoned figures recalled from memories of her travels throughout the world. Kirk’s public murals often address social issues, as she intentionally uses the public space to spark dialogue around topics of equality and visibility for women, communities of color and the LGBTQ community.
